Prediction

Girona were on the wrong end of a high-scoring affair last weekend, losing 3-2 to Getafe. They were 3-0 down at half time, and second half goals from Castellanos and Gutierrez were not enough to complete the comeback. Girona's last three games have featured 18 goals, and they have scored 11 of them.

Atletico picked up their biggest win of the season last time out as they beat Sevilla 6-1 at home. Depay and Morata both netted twice while Griezmann and Carrasco completed the scoring in Diego Simone's record-breaking match. No one has managed Atletico for more games than he has.

Correa scored a brace back in October as Atletico won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Premier League - 2022/2023: AFC Bournemouth VS Liverpool

David Brooks, Matias Vina and Junior Stanislas all remain sidelined with injury.

Marcus Tavernier, Lloyd Kelly and Illia Zabarnyi remain doubts for this game.

Both Jefferson Lerma and Hamed Traore missed last weekend's loss to Arsenal owing to slight injuries, so may return for this game here.

 

Liverpool

Calvin Ramsey has been ruled out for the rest of the season with injury.

Thiago and Luis Diaz remain ruled out with injury.

Naby Keita and Joe Gomez both remain doubts for this game.

This game will come too soon for Arthur, who needs to build up match fitness.

 

Prediction

Despite being 2-0 up with less than 30 minutes to go last Saturday, Bournemouth eventually lost 3-2 to Arsenal late into stoppage time. That loss means the win over Wolves around three weeks ago is their only one in the league post-World Cup and their last win on home soil came just before the World Cup break back in mid-November.

Liverpool are currently on their longest Premier League unbeaten run of this season (5), having overcome rivals Manchester United 7-0 on Sunday. However, away from home, the Reds have only picked up 12 out of a possible 36 points.

Jurgen Klopp's side are in form and have maintained half of their clean sheets for the season in the league in their last five games so expect them to get another win here.

Donny van de Beek is ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, while Christian Eriksen may not return to action until April or even May with an ankle injury.

Expect Erik ten Hag to make changes from their 7-0 hammering against Liverpool for this one. Luke Shaw is likely to be replaced for Tyrell Malacia, as well as Diogo Dalot for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

 

Real Betis

Nabil Fekir is recovering from an cruciate ligament rupture and is out for the rest of the season.

Martin Montoya was not registered in Real Betis' squad for the knockout stages, and is unavailable as a result.

 

Prediction

Manchester United

Prior to Manchester United's 7-0 defeat to Liverpool, many would be expecting them to get past Real Betis at home in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.

The mood has swiftly changed from optimism to despair, but United fans will be hoping the Anfield annihilation was just a one-off.

 

Real Betis

Betis are on a four match unbeaten run, drawing to Real Madrid on the weekend. They will fancy their chances against a bruised United side, but would take a draw with the second leg to play in Spain.

Erik ten Hag will unsurprisingly ring the changes after their weekend performance, so we might expect them to bounce back, if they can get the humiliation out of their heads.
