Champions Paris Saint-Germain and
Montpellier face off at Parc des Princes after the sides extended their
opening-match Ligue 1 unbeaten streaks to 10 and three, respectively.
PSG won their opening Ligue 1 match 4-1 at
Stade Océane against Le Havre. Montpellier drew 1-1 against Strasbourg at Stade
de la Mosson-Mondial 98 in their first league match of 2024/2025.
PSG won the last Ligue 1 meeting between
the sides, triumphing 6-2 at Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98 last season. Kylian
Mbappé led PSG with goals in the 22nd, 50th, and 63rd minute. Vitinha, Lee
Kang-In, and Nuno Mendes also were on the scoresheet. Arnaud Nordin and Téji
Savanier were on the scoresheet for la Paillade.
PSG have got the better of Montpellier of
late with wins in 10 straight matches, dating to December 2019. PSG have
outscored la Paillade 38-7 during their winning streak.
Lee Kang-In, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane
Dembélé, and Randal Kolo Muani share the early scoring lead for PSG after
netting in the opening match against Le Havre.
With a goal against Strasbourg, Savanier is
the early leading scorer for Montpellier.
At Parc des Princes last season, PSG had
nine wins, six draws, and two losses in 17 Ligue 1 contests. Montpellier,
meanwhile, had seven wins, three draws, and seven losses in their 17 Ligue 1
contests away from Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98.
