Dennis Schroder Agrees to One-Year Deal with Celtics

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Boston Celtics have signed free agent Dennis Schroder to a one-year deal.

The deal is reportedly worth $5.9 million.

Schroder played one season with the Los Angeles Lakers, starting in 61 regular-season games, averaging 32 minutes, 15 points, three rebounds and six assists per game.

With a 42-30 record last season, the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament to secure the seventh seed in the Western Conference. The team was defeated by the number two seed Phoenix Suns in six games. Schroder started all six games, averaging 32 minutes, 14 points, three rebounds and three assists per game.

Schroder should slot into the role once held by Kemba Walker, who signed a deal with the New York Knicks this offseason. Last season, playing 43 regular-season games, Walker averaged 32 minutes, 20 points, four rebounds and five assists per game.

The Celtics are +4900 to win the 2022 NBA Championship on FanDuel Sportsbook. As the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference last season, the team was defeated in five games by the number two seed Brooklyn Nets.

NBA superstar Luka Doncic agrees to $200 million extension with Dallas Mavericks

Slovenian NBA All-Star guard Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension worth $207 million, multiple U.S. media reports said Monday.

The 22-year-old playmaker is set to ink a supermax extension, according to the Dallas Morning News and ESPN.

"Today is a dream come true," Doncic told ESPN. "I am humbled and excited to remain in Dallas as part of the Mavericks and appreciate the support of my fans."

Doncic, who led Slovenia into the medal games at the Tokyo Olympics before a fourth-place finish, had been playing on the deal he signed after being the third overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Chris Paul 'a full go' for Game 3 vs Lakers

Phoenix’s first potential championship bid in over a decade received a severe blow in Game 1 when Chris Paul went down with a right shoulder contusion that has limited him ever since.

After another 48 hours’ worth of rest and treatment, the 10-time All-Star will give it another go in Game 3 against the Lakers on Thursday (10 ET, TNT).

“He’s gotten better over the last couple of days and he is a full go tonight,” said Suns coach Monty Williams.

Williams added he would “keep a close eye on him.” Paul played in just 22 minutes in Phoenix’s 109-102 Game 2 loss and was clearly limited, shooting 2-for-5 and committing three turnovers to five assists.

The Suns and Lakers entered Thursday tied 1-1 in their best-of-seven first-round series.
