Analysis:
Pick 1
Pick Under 3
Sporting Braga and Union Berlin will meet
each other in one of the most exciting games of Matchday No 2 in the whole UEFA
Europa League program this Thursday.
Both teams got off to phenomenal starts in
their respective domestic leagues. Braga are two points shy of Benfica at the
top of the Primeira Liga standings with a fantastic record of five wins and one
draw in the inaugural six rounds.
Union Berlin, on the other side, are
shocking German Bundesliga leaders with four wins and two draws in the opening
six Gameweeks.
It is worth noting that Union Berlin have
already faced the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig (two of the strongest
teams in the country alongside Borussia Dortmund) in these six opening affairs
of the new campaign.
However, Urs Fischer’s men did not deliver
the goods on the opening day of the UEFA Europa League, falling 0-1 at home to
Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Swiss manager has clearly shifted the
orientation towards defense of late since his men have played three consecutive
low-scoring matches across competitions.
We did not see too many chances at all in
Union Berlin’s mentioned loss to Union Saint-Gilloise seven days ago.
Fischer’s troops allowed just one goal in
the last two Bundesliga outings despite facing Bayern Munich and FC Cologne in
the process.
Braga, on the other side, opened their
Europa League adventure in Group D with an easy 0-2 victory against Malmo on
Swedish soil.
