RB Salzburg enters this match fresh off a 3-2 victory over Grazer AK on Friday in their first Austrian Bundesliga away game. Twente drew their most recent friendly match, 0-0, against Schalke. They have not yet begun their league campaign. The clubs have already met in a European competition, with Salzburg emerging victorious in the Intertoto Cup in 1998, after winning 5-3 overall. Only once in Europe did Twente have to contend with Austrian resistance.

 

Due to injuries, Fernando, Takumu Kawamura, and Alexander Schlager are expected to miss a few games for the hosts. The injury of Michal Sadilek, a Czech midfielder, is a concern for the visiting team. With Robin Propper's recent transfer to Rangers, they can no longer rely on him as captain.
