Newcastle United vs Leeds United ---- English Premier League

The Premier League is back in action with another set of matches this weekend as Newcastle United lock horns with Leeds United on Friday.

Finding themselves in the relegation zone currently, Newcastle have only picked up one point from their opening four matches to occupy 19th in the table. Newcastle United ended the month of August with a 2-2 draw at home to Southampton but were beaten 4-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend. They have already conceded 12 times so far, which is the worst defensive record in the top flight this term.
 
 
 

Leeds United have collected just two points to sit 17th in the Premier League standings. In their previous game, Leeds United suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Sunday after they picked up a point away to get a 1-1 draw with Burnley before the international break. Leeds United’s defensive records are also poor as they have conceded 11 goals so far. 

AS Roma VS CSKA Sofia ---- UEFA Europa Conference League

AS Roma
After five consecutive victories at the beginning of the season, Roma hope to continue their good state in the Conference League. In Serie A, Rome is currently at the top with 9 points after three league games, the same as AC Milan and Inter Milan, which making them the hottest teams in Europe's latest club games. They faced Trabzonspor in the League playoff, and Rome won easily with a total score of 5-1.
 
 
CSKA Sofia

Last season, they made their group debut in the Europa League. They ranked bottom among the four teams. This time, as the only one of the three Bulgarian clubs to pass the three rounds of preliminaries, Sofia entered the group stage after obtaining the qualification of the second round of the League preliminaries. They beat Liepaja, Osijek and Viktoria Plzen with a total score of 0-0 (penalty shootout 3-1), 5-3 and 3-2 respectively.

 

Manchester City vs RB Leipzig ---- UEFA

Manchester City begin their new quest for the much-wanted UEFA Champions League trophy on Wednesday evening with the home fixture against RB Leipzig.

Manchester City have won their last three Premier League matches without shipping a single goal - while also scoring 11 at the correct end of the pitch. They edged Leicester City to a narrow 1-0 victory in their previous game. Not since September 2018 have City suffered defeat in the group stages of the Champions League - winning 13 and drawing four of their 17 such games since that loss to Lyon. 
 
 
 
 
RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig were swiftly dispatched by Liverpool in the last 16 in the last season. RB Leipzig will travel to the Etihad off the back of consecutive losses in Bundesliga. They’ve just shipped four goals at home to Bayern Munich after the international break. A 4-0 thrashing of Stuttgart represents the only silver lining in Leipzig's season so far. Leipzig have lost three of their last four Champions League games away from home without scoring a single goal.

Manchester United on the other hand are having an exceptional run in the current Premier League where they’re placed third on the points table. Manchester United won their first game with a 5-0 margin against Leeds United. Manchester United enter the match off the back of a 4-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday while they bagged a 1-0 tie against the Wolves before that.

Everton vs Burnley ----- English Premier League

Everton's well-oiled machine will seek a third Premier League win in four matches when they welcome Burnley to Goodison Park for Monday's top-flight battle.

Being eighth in the rankings, Everton have started their new campaign on a great note. After comfortably dispatching Southampton and playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Leeds United, Everton travelled to the South Coast to take on Brighton, getting a 2-0 win at the end. Everton had narrowly missed out on a European spot the last season.
 
 
 
 
Burnley

Burnley were the last safe team in the top flight the previous campaign, and they remained winless in 28 of their total 38 fixtures. Coming to 2021-22, they have a 100% losing record barring a draw. On last time out, Burnley drew 1-1 against Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United in the league. Prior of that game, they shared a goalless draw with Newcastle United. Burnley had conceded two or more goals in these three fixtures. 

Leeds United vs Liverpool ---- English Premier League

Leeds United will be looking to record their first victory of the 2021-22 Premier League season when they welcome Liverpool to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon for a mouthwatering encounter.

Liverpool

Collecting seven points from their opening three fixtures, Liverpool have made a strong start and occupied fifth position. Liverpool's start to the new season has been impressive, as they opened their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 success over Norwich City before running out 2-0 winners over Burnley at home one week later. On last time out, Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with 10-men Chelsea. 

Birmingham City vs Derby County -------- England Championship

Birmingham City play host to Derby County on Friday evening with the opportunity to move into third position in the Championship standings.

Birmingham City went into the international break and played out a 1-1 draw against Barnsley last time out, which kept them at 8th in the table. Coming back to home turf this weekend, Birmingham City are looking for their first win of the season after the 0-2 loss to Bournemouth and goal-less draw with Stoke City. However, their defense played a major role in positive results so far, conceding 3 from 5 so far.
 
 
 
 
Derby County

Derby County’s poor start to the season continued last time out as they played out a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest. They won only 1 game so far with the remaining 3 being draws. Derby County were dumped out of the EFL Cup in their previous outing courtesy of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United. Improvements must be made in the attacking third as they average under 1 goal per game.
