English Premier League -- Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle United's new era begins on the pitch at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon, as the Magpies welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Tyneside in the Premier League.

 

 

Newcastle United emerge from the international break as one of the richest clubs in the world following a takeover by a consortium led by the Saudi Arabian government's sovereign wealth fund. Newcastle United are yet to taste victory in the new season and are currently 19th in the Premier League table with just three points after seven gameweeks. They lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on last time out.

 

 

 

 

Tottenham Hotspur record in London derbies is already looking bleak following three successive defeats to Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal last month. However, in their predceding game, the Spurs claimed a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over Aston Villa. They had scored two or more goals in three of their past four overall games.

 

 

Newcastle United are yet to post a win this new season. Besides, Spurs have  only lost one of their previous eight league meetings against Newcastle United. Therefore, it’s believed that Tottenham Hotspur ought to be able to secure this win.

France Ligue 1 -- Paris Saint Germain (PSG) VS Angers

PSG has led Ligue 1 with 24 points after nine rounds this season, up to 6 points ahead of Lens in the second. Their impending WC Qualifiers - N & C America tie sees United States facing opposition in the form of Costa Rica on Wednesday.

 

USA

Prior to the trip to Panama City, the USA had gleaned eight points from their opening four Qualifying fixtures. And they have won 14 of their last 15 home games across all tournaments - with the one exception being a 1-1 draw with Canada last month. On Sunday, USA were given a humbling 1-0 loss away from home against Panama.

 

 

 

 

Costa Rica's bid for a fifth World Cup Finals appearance in six editions got off to a morale-depleting start with only three points and one goal from their first four fixtures. There were only three goals scored in their last seven matches in all competitions and their last three games away from home have ended 0-0. In their previous game, Costa Rica beat El Salvador 2-1.

 

 

Two teams have already faced each other once this year, and just like in four of the last five head-to-head matches between them, the USA won the match. And given their recent states, expect the home team will go on their journey to win. 

FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA) -- England vs Hungary

England are set to play against Hungary in Tuesday’s big WC Qualifiers - Europe meeting.

With 19 points gleaned from seven matches in Group G, England have cemented their position at the top of the rankings. England come into this game on the back of a 5-0 win over Koldo Alvarez's Andorra yesterday. They are on a remarkable streak of 12 successive World Cup Qualifying victories on home soil. England have scored 14 and conceded just one in four World Cup Qualifying battles.

 

 

 

 

Hungary 

After suffering their third defeat in four qualification matches, Hungary sit fourth in the rankings. Their victory over Andorra on September 9 represents their only win from their last eight in all tournaments. Hungary succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Albania last time out.

Though Hungary nearly qualified from their group, and earned global praise for their performances, England were simply a class above and should have too much for any opponent. They will be the favorites to win the game.

FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA) -- Netherlands VS Gibraltar

Netherlands beat Latvia 1-0 in the recent game. Davy Klaassen scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute and his fourth goal in the qualifying game, which helped the Netherlands win a difficult victory, making them to establish a lead in the championship. After forgetting the disappointment of the 2020 European Cup, Netherlands has now won three consecutive World Cup qualifiers.

 

 

 

Gibraltar's 2022 World Cup qualifier largely met the expectations of the 197th ranking in the world. Gibraltar was defeated by Montenegro in the last game.
