A real buzz is expected in and around Deepdale on Wednesday evening when red-hot Liverpool come to visit Preston in the battle for a place in the League Cup quarterfinal.
Preston North End
Winning their three games while netting 11 goals in that time, Preston North End brushed aside Mansfield Town, Morecambe and Cheltenham Town in the opening three rounds. Preston North End were denied a second win on the trot last Saturday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Blackpool. Prior to that, they claimed a 2-1 victory over Coventry City on home turf to end their four-game winless run.
Liverpool
With 21 points from nine games, Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League, one point behind Chelsea. They are yet to taste defeat across all competitions this season, picking up 10 wins and three draws. Liverpool stamped their name as firm league title favorites last time out as they steamrolled Manchester United 5-0 away last time out. Liverpool notched at least five goals in three of the last four away games across competitions.
Liverpool are obviously huge favorites for the win. As how many goals Liverpool are scoring away from home at the moment, just expect them continuing their remarkable run of netting three or more times on the road.
