Real Sociedad lost a great chance to get into La Liga's top Five, even with a goalless draw against Real Betis extending their unbeaten league run(W3, D2). Qualifying for Europe for the third time running looks as difficult as ever, and they find it difficult to win against big teams this season including Barcelona 4-2. Extending that would give them their first LL clean sheet against Barcelona since a 1-0 win in April 2016, which was also the last time Sociedad won a league H2H.

Saw two defeats in their last two matches, with the UEFA Europa League loss to Frankfurt earlier this month has made the league their only way to the Champion League for next season. The recent loss against Cadiz was 1-0 halted an unbeaten 15 game(W11, D4).

Barcelona has won more away games so far under Xavi and securing the win means a lot to the club, trophyless this season again.
