Real Sociedad and Manchester United square battle at the Anoeta Stadium with a chance to finish first in Group E of the Europa League and determine who advances to the next round.

 

Real Sociedad

Sociedad most recently defeated Omonia 2-0 last week, are the only team in the 2022–23 Europe League to enter the final matchday with victories in all five of their group games thus far. However, their La Liga form has suffered as a result of recent 1-0 losses to Real Valladolid and Real Betis.

 

Manchester United

In order to advance to the last 16 and prevent one of the teams from being demoted from the Champions League, Man United must win by at least two goals on Thursday. Red Devils defense has only allowed one goal in their previous six games, and Rashford's 100th goal for the club was all it needed for them to defeat West Ham United 1-0 at the weekend, extending their undefeated streak in all competitions to eight games.

 

Prediction

In contrast to a Man United squad that has recently been a defensive force to be reckoned with, attacking absences should hurt the hosts hard. We can envision the in-form Red Devils securing the two-goal lead they need to edge Sociedad to the top place.
